Os ponemos en situación. El gigante de Redmond salió mal parado de su aventura inicial en el sector móvil, ya que a pesar de sus esfuerzos la estrategia que adoptaron no funcionó y la situación se acabó haciendo insostenible.

Esto obligó a la compañía dar un giro de 180 grados que ha acabado dejando en manos de los socios el lanzamiento de nuevos terminales. Microsoft continúa actualizando y dando soporte a Windows 10 Mobile pero ya no lanza nuevos smartphones.

Muchos rumores apuntaban que esta situación no iba a mantenerse de forma indefinida ya que en teoría el gigante de Redmond estaba trabajando en un Surface Phone, pero esas informaciones nunca han llegado a concretarse y a día de hoy la situación no ha cambiado.

Pues bien, esas fuentes internas han “chivado” a Thurrot que Microsoft está preparando una nueva aventura en el sector smartphone, y que tienen pensado empezar desde cero tanto a nivel de hardware como de software.

Son palabras mayores, ya que en caso de que se confirme tendríamos nuevos smartphones pero también un nuevo sistema operativo, lo que podría suponer tarde o temprano el final de Windows 10 Mobile.

Está claro que Microsoft es consciente de la importancia que tiene el sector móvil para su éxito como empresa a largo plazo así que estamos convencidos de que volverán a intentarlo. Lo que ya no tenemos tan claro es que para ello vayan a estar dispuestos a renunciar totalmente a Windows 10 Mobile.
